€12 Million Irish Lotto Jackpot Finally Won
The Irish Lotto jackpot was finally won last night after it reached an impressive €12 million following 15 successive draws without a top tier winner. The coveted top prize eluded players for almost two months and was last won on Wednesday 9th May.
Joining the jackpot winner on the night were over 40,000 other players who secured prizes worth between €5 for matching just three main numbers up to €1,973 for matching five main numbers. The winning numbers from last night’s draw were 13, 14, 24, 31, 35 and 43 with the Bonus Ball of 21. A full prize breakdown can be found on the Irish Lotto Results page.
Although lottery officials do not yet know who the winner is, they have been quick to announce that the jackpot was won on a €12 Quick Pick ticket which was bought from American House on Main Street in the town of Bundoran, County Donegal.
Whoever the lucky winner is, they can look forward to claiming the largest Irish Lotto jackpot in over three years. The last time Irish Lotto players saw prize of this value was on March 26th 2011 when two players shared a €14 million winning ticket. However, the last time a single ticket won a prize of this value was back in October 2010 when one fortunate player scooped an incredible €16.3 million jackpot.
The next Irish Lotto draw takes place on Saturday and will offer players a brand new jackpot of €2 million. However, if you’d like to play for something a little bigger, Friday’s EuroMillions draw is offering an estimated jackpot of €105 million. Tickets for both draws can be purchased online by following the Lottery Tickets tab or in person from an authorised retailer.
