€5 million Irish Lotto Jackpot is Biggest in Three Months
Tonight’s Irish Lottery jackpot stands at an estimated €5 million, which is the biggest top prize on offer in more than three months. This new jackpot amount is the result of six successive draws with no ticket holder being able to correctly match all the six winning numbers.
The last time the Irish Lottery jackpot exceeded this figure was back on 17th August, when a woman from Lahinch in Co. Limerick, who opted to remain anonymous, won €6,158,375. The biggest jackpot so far this year was worth an incredible €10,613,747 and was won on 30th January by a long-time playing lottery syndicate from Tipperary, who also chose to remain anonymous.
The largest ever jackpot in Irish Lottery history was €18.9 million, which was won by a syndicate of 16 quarry and concrete plant workers from Bennekerry, Carlow, in June 2008.
Although the current jackpot has a way to go before reaching those heady heights, players are sure to be getting lottery fever ahead of tonight’s draw as jackpots in excess of €4 million always attract more attention.
Players are advised to buy their Irish Lottery tickets early for tonight’s draw and avoid the last minute rush. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Irish Lottery Tickets page or from any authorised lottery retailer.
