Biggest Irish Lotto Jackpot of 2023 Split Two Ways
After the largest Irish Lotto jackpot of the year was won on Saturday night, the two lucky ticket holders have wasted no time in claiming the money.
The jackpot, worth €12.7 million, was split in half after two players matched all six main numbers – 2, 3, 21, 43, 44 and 46. Find out all the draw details for 17th June, when there were more than 41,000 prizes paid out in total.
It was revealed shortly afterwards that the winning tickets were sold in Donegal and Westmeath, and the exact locations have now been revealed.
The Westmeath winner purchased their ticket at Tuthills Newsagents in the Golden Island Shopping Centre in Athlone, while the other entry was sold at McCarron’s Village Shop in Quigley’s Point, Inishowen.
Both winners have now contacted the Irish Lottery to stake their claims, ahead of receiving a payout of €6.3 million each. Arrangements are already being made for them to collect the money. They will then have to decide whether to go public or stay anonymous.
The jackpot had not previously been won since 18th March, and reached eight figures by the end of May. It could have carried on growing until it hit its limit of €19.06 million - this became the new jackpot cap after a player from Castlebar broke the previous record in January 2022.
For now, the jackpot resets to €2 million. See the latest results after every draw.
