Dublin Punter Wins €18,802 on €2 EuroMillions Bet
Lady Luck was certainly shining brightly on one Dubliner who won €18,802 after betting on the EuroMillions draw on Friday 3rd March. The prosperous punter scooped the five-figure sum after placing a bet of just €2 with Irish bookmaker BoyleSports.
The bet, which was split into four parts, featured a €0.50 accumulator and a trio of €0.50 trebles. The accumulator, placed on the numbers 1, 5, 15 and 26, proved to be the most profitable, landing the bettor an unbelievable sum of €16,500.
The good news didn’t end there for the hopeful gambler. All three trebles also came good, racking up a further fortune in the form of €750 each, resulting in a total win of over €2,250. The news soon filtered through to BoyleSports, as Aoife Heffron, a spokeswoman for the company, said: “There must be something in the water in Dublin because we have had yet another Dub win big with their lotto bet.”
This latest win is the third time in the space of a week that a Dublin resident has claimed a huge prize after betting on the lottery. “Someone has a crystal ball they aren’t telling us about,” joked Aoife. “The total Lotto winnings paid out in Dublin in the last week now reaches €47,355.50 after the latest punter bagged €18,802.50 for their €2 bet on their lucky numbers.”
