Dundalk Has The Luck of the Irish
The town of Dundalk in County Louth is being hailed as the luckiest town in Ireland after claiming its second lottery millionaire within a matter of weeks.
Saturday’s Irish Lottery jackpot, which was worth €2 million, was won by a single ticket holder who purchased their ticket from the Centra Store on Clanbrassil Street in Dundalk. Although the winner has not yet come forward, it has been confirmed that they bought an advance play ticket worth €32 the day before the draw.
The winning ticket successfully matched all six numbers drawn, which were 9, 12, 18, 19, 31 and 44. Bonus Ball 1 completed the winning weekend line up.
Saturday’s Dundalk winner comes just weeks after another resident of Dundalk won €3.9 million after buying a national lottery ticket from The Beehive on Castletown Road. The lucky winner, who has opted to remain anonymous, won the jackpot on 4th September from a €6 Quick Pick and told lottery officials he always had a feeling his numbers would come up.
“I always said I’d hit the jackpot. My friends and family laughed and told me to save my money but even then I kept playing and here I am now standing in the Lottery with a cheque for millions in my hands,” he told a local newspaper.
So if you live in this lucky town and have not yet checked your weekend lottery tickets, do it now by visiting the Irish Lottery Results page and see if you’re Dundalk’s second jackpot winner!
