EuroMillions Fans Eagerly Await €139 Million Jackpot Draw
EuroMillions fans throughout Ireland will have their fingers firmly crossed ahead of tonight’s draw when a jackpot of €139 million will be on offer. The top prize, which is now just €51 million away from its cap, has swelled to its largest size since a Belgian man scooped €168 million on Tuesday 11th October 2016 and is now one of the biggest lottery jackpots in the world.
The pan-European game’s top prize has been growing ever since a family from Dijon in France claimed a jackpot worth €83.3 million on Tuesday 11th April and, once again, it went untouched in Friday’s draw. The numbers 5, 7, 26, 36 and 39, along with the Lucky Stars 2 and 10, managed to evade every single participant in the draw, however, four players - two Brits, a Belgian and a French ticket holder - went agonisingly close by matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win €427,598.
The draw proved prosperous for a further 3,104,154 lottery lovers, each of whom profited from sums between €4 for matching two numbers and €44,263 for correctly predicting five main numbers. It was a quiet night for Irish fans, with no ticket holders from the Emerald Isle able to trouble the top four prize tiers. Instead, the largest amount in the main draw came as 41 players collected €169 for matching four main numbers and one of the two Lucky Stars. However, two players picked up €500,000 courtesy of EuroMillions Plus, the optional supplementary game open only to Irish ticket holders. Ten Irish Only Raffle players correctly matched one of the lucky codes to secure a sum of €5,000.
There are certain to be plenty of lucky charms on show ahead of tonight’s draw, but before you start stroking that four-leaf clover, you’ll need to pick your numbers. This can be done online or by visiting any authorised retailer across the Republic. Good luck!
