EuroMillions Superdraw Announced As Dubliner Wins €1 Million
The date for the next EuroMillions Superdraw has been announced, just days after a lucky player from Dublin won €1 million in a special Ireland Only Raffle draw to mark St Patrick’s Day.

The next European Superdraw, also known as a Megadraw, is set to take place on Friday 20th April. The jackpot will be increased to a guaranteed €130 million, regardless of whether or not the top prize was won in the previous draw.
Superdraws take place only a few times throughout the year and are funded by the EuroMillions Booster Fund, which receives a small amount of the prize pool for every draw. The Booster Fund needs to be in place to ensure that the game’s minimum jackpot of €17 million can always be covered, but it also allows special events such as Megadraws to be organised when there are excess funds in the pot.
Apart from the guaranteed jackpot, Superdraws work just like other draws. If nobody matches all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars on 20th April, the top prize will roll over and an even larger amount will be offered on the following Tuesday.
€1 Million Winner
The Superdraw announcement follows hot on the heels of another special EuroMillions draw last Friday. In a twist to the usual Ireland Only Raffle, one of the winners was randomly selected to receive an extra €1 million.
As the lucky winner woke up on St Patrick’s Day to the news that they had become a millionaire overnight, the Irish National Lottery also announced that the shop which sold the all-important ticket was Costcutter in Windy Arbour, Dundrum, in South Dublin.
Shop owner Aaron Massey said: “We are a small, busy local shop but there is also a lot of passing trade. We would love it if one of our regulars is the lucky winner. What a way for someone to celebrate St. Patrick’s weekend!”
