Family Syndicate Claims €10.6 Million Irish Lotto Prize
An anonymous family syndicate from Co Meath has claimed a rollover Irish Lotto jackpot worth €10.6 million after purchasing a Quick Pick ticket from a local petrol station. However, if it hadn’t been for a timely reminder on the day of the draw, they would have missed out on the windfall entirely. The winners claimed their prize at lottery headquarters on Friday.
The winners plan to pay their mortgages and purchase some new cars in addition to enjoying their newfound wealth. “We just feel so happy. It feels like life has just begun and the possibilities are endless,” one of the winners said in a statement to lottery officials.
The jackpot winner from Wednesday 8th April, who snapped up a €2 million payout, has yet to come forward.
While the Irish Lotto draw for Saturday 11th April didn’t produce another top prize winner, the enthusiasm for the game is still going strong, with over 35,000 ticket holders matching some of the numbers drawn to snap up cash amounts worth between €5 for matching three main numbers and €25,000 for matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball. Saturday’s winning line was 6, 8, 25, 29, 31 and 42 with Bonus Ball 11.
It’s never been a better time to be an Irish Lotto player, as the jackpot was not only won twice in two consecutive draws - over 100,000 participants have scooped cash prizes since Saturday 4th April, including four ticket holders who each won a fixed second-tier prize of €25,000 in the last three games. The next Irish Lotto jackpot will be up for grabs on Wednesday 15th April and will showcase a tidy rollover jackpot of €2.5 million. If you’re keen to add to the winning streak seen so far this month, make sure that you get those lines in before sales stop! Entries can be purchased online, wherever you are in the world, from the Tickets page, or in person from any of the authorised retailers found throughout the Republic. Good luck and have fun!
