First 2016 EuroMillions Superdraw Offers €130 Million Jackpot
Friday’s EuroMillions draw will offer a jackpot worth a guaranteed €130 million in a special Superdraw set to celebrate a number of changes to the game that came into effect this week. This is the second-largest jackpot of 2016, right behind the €132 million shared by a French and an Irish player in the draw on Friday 29th January.
There’s no denying that a €130 million would be a life-changing sum of money to win, a factor which should encourage players to snap up tickets. While a single winner wouldn’t quite be brushing shoulders with the likes of Bill Gates and Carlos Slim in terms of net worth, such a sizeable jackpot would be large enough to catapult any winner into the same tax bracket has some of the world’s most famous A-list celebrities.
Friday’s Superdraw is the 18th edition of the game to be held, with the very first taking place on Friday 9th February 2007. Should an Irish ticket holder be lucky enough to get their hands on this jackpot, they will become just the second winner from Ireland to claim such a prize after an Irish participant split €187 million with a Belgian ticket holder in June 2013, after a Superdraw jackpot rolled over five times. A win would also give the country their tenth EuroMillions jackpot winner and narrow the gap on Austria (14 wins) and Switzerland (15).
The Superdraw isn’t the only excitement that this Friday’s draw will bring. The introduction of the EuroMillions Ireland Only Raffle, a game in which ten Irish EuroMillions players are each guaranteed to win €5,000 in every draw, is also set to be a major incentive. The same can certainly be said for a jackpot of €500,000 that is ready and waiting to be won be any lucky EuroMillions Plus players who are able to match all five main numbers in the draw. For more information on either the Irish Only Raffle or EuroMillions Plus, head to the How To Play pages.
To be in with a chance of walking away with this Friday’s colossal Superdraw jackpot, or any of the game’s supplementary prizes, EuroMillions tickets can be purchased online or from any authorised retailer across the country. Good luck!
