Get Ready For EuroMillions Superdraw on Friday 7th June
The EuroMillions jackpot will be bumped up to €130 million for the third Superdraw of the year on Friday 7th June, setting up another chance to become one of Ireland’s biggest-ever winners.
It does not matter if the jackpot is much lower in the preceding draw - or even if it gets won - money will be taken out of the Reserve Fund to top it up to the advertised amount.
From there, the top prize can carry on growing as normal, at least until it reaches its new cap of €250 million. It would then only be able to stay at this value for a maximum of five draws - in the fifth draw at €250 million, the jackpot has to be won.
The Superdraw keeps the excitement going in what has already been a year of big jackpots. A French player landed €166 million in the most recent draw on Tuesday 30th April, while someone from Ireland just missed out on sharing the nine-figure reward.
The Irish ticket holder - from Co Kildare - was among eight players across Europe who matched all five main numbers and one of the two Lucky Stars. They have now been urged to come forward within the next 90 days to claim their prize.
“It was certainly a memorable night for a EuroMillions player in Kildare who matched five numbers and one Lucky Star in the Tuesday night draw to win an incredible €114,649,” said Sarah Orr, a spokesperson for the Irish Lottery.
“We are encouraging all of our players who may have purchased their Quick Pick tickets on the day of the draw at Dunnes Stores Newbridge on the Moorefield Road to carefully check their tickets today as one player now has a ticket worth €114,649.”
EuroMillions or EuroDreams?
While EuroMillions offers the biggest jackpots you can win in Ireland, there is also another multi-national lottery - EuroDreams - to enjoy.
EuroDreams, which launched in November, has a top prize of €20,000 per month for 30 years. This would give you a guaranteed income over a long period.
The odds of winning the EuroDreams jackpot are 1 in 19,191,900 - compared to 1 in 139,838,160 for EuroMillions - and there are five other prize categories. To play, you have to select six numbers from 1 to 40, plus a Dream Number from 1 to 5.
EuroDreams draws take place on Mondays and Thursdays so, with EuroMIllions held on Tuesdays and Fridays, there is a chance to play a major European lottery most nights through the week. You can then find out the results as soon as they are available to see if you are a winner.
