Ireland Celebrates 11th EuroMillions Jackpot Win
One lucky ticket holder from Ireland became the country’s 11th EuroMillions jackpot winner on Friday night as they matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars to land €28.9 million. The top prize has now been given away twice in the space of a week, after a UK player won the €100 million Superdraw on 30th June.
Friday’s winning numbers were 11, 20, 35, 37 and 45, with Lucky Stars 3 and 6. A total of 1.8 million participants from across the continent won prizes, but the evening belonged to Ireland as another big jackpot winner was crowned. Irish EuroMillions players have now won over €1 billion in prizes since the game was launched in 2004, and fans of the game will be waiting with interest to learn more about the latest lucky player. They have 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward and claim their prize, and National Lottery bosses have urged everyone who played on Friday to check their tickets.
“This is an incredible amount of money to win,” said Irish National Lottery CEO Dermot Griffin. “We have no idea if it is one player or a syndicate. We are delighted to have another Irish winner of EuroMillions.”
Griffin added: “If somebody out there has discovered they are the winner, we advise them to stay calm. Winning this amount can be a huge shock. Make sure you get good legal and financial advice, and contact the National Lottery as soon as possible and we will guide you through the claims process and will give any support you need.”
Ireland has already enjoyed EuroMillions jackpot success this year, with a Dublin work syndicate winning €88.5 million on Tuesday 24th January. They came forward a couple of weeks later and said they were planning a low-key celebration, followed by some sunshine holidays.
The latest winner can now also start to think about which opportunities they would like to explore with their new-found wealth, and it could just be the feelgood factor continues this week. The jackpot for Tuesday night will be worth €17 million, and you can either buy tickets from an authorised retailer in Ireland or select your numbers online. Good luck!
