Irish Lottery €10.5 million Jackpot Won

Irish Lottery €10.5 million Jackpot Won

After rolling over for the last nine draws, the Irish Lottery jackpot was finally won by a single lucky ticket holder from the Midlands on Wednesday 29th May 2013. This is the second biggest jackpot to be won on the Irish Lottery this year and was just slightly short of the €10.6 million won on 30th January 2013.

As well as the jackpot winner there were two players to correctly match five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to each win the second tier prize of €25,000. This is the first time in over a month that the second tier has seen multiple winners, so well done to those players and of course, that lucky jackpot winner! The winning numbers and a full breakdown of last night’s draw can be found on the Irish Lottery Results page.

While Ireland waits to find out who the latest jackpot winner is, the winner of the jackpot on 27th April 2013 has given his first interview. Simon Fagan, 38 from Louth, won the €3.5 million jackpot after buying a Quick Pick ticket from his local mini mart. Simon currently works as a Groundskeeper for the GAA Darver Centre of Excellence in Louth after being made redundant from Louth Transport several years ago. Simon plans to share his win with his mother and his six siblings, whom he lives with.

“I always felt I would win the Lotto someday,” Simon revealed in his interview. “I must have believed the line ‘It Could Be You’, but I still couldn’t believe it when my numbers came up last Saturday!”

If you are from the Midlands and haven’t yet checked your ticket for last night’s draw then dig it out and check your numbers as it could be you following in Simon’s lucky footsteps!
