Irish Lotto Jackpot of €7.3 Million Scooped on Saturday 19th September
There was one lucky Irish Lotto ticket holder who landed €7.3 million on Saturday 19th September, ending a run of 11 rollovers. It is the first time the jackpot has been won since a number of changes were made to the game earlier this month, and is the biggest prize to have been scooped on the game since a family syndicate from Co Meath picked up €10.6 million in the draw on 4th April.
The numbers drawn on Saturday were 7, 26, 34, 39, 41 and 42 with Bonus Ball 31. The jackpot-winning ticket was sold in Rushe’s Supervalu store, in Killiney Shopping Centre, South Co Dublin. There is already speculation that the lucky entry may have been bought by a syndicate and Shane Rushe, the operations director at the store, says there has been a great deal of excitement among customers since the news broke.
He said in the Irish Mirror: “We’ve had a lot of people come into the supermarket, checking their tickets, hoping they’ve won. We would be quite a busy supermarket, with a lot of Lotto sales, but our customers are mostly local people, so I’d imagine it was a local winner. The ticket was bought on Tuesday so it must be someone who does it quite regularly.”
As well as the jackpot winner, there were 15 participants on Saturday evening who matched five main numbers to earn €2,948 each. There were over 41,000 other Irish Lotto prize winners, snagging rewards ranging from a €3 scratchcard for matching two main numbers plus the Bonus Ball up to €164 for matching four main numbers plus the Bonus Ball.
One player in Lotto Plus 1 pocketed €5,000 after matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball, while there was also a ticket holder in the same winning tier of Lotto Plus 2 who landed €2,500. There were 114 Lotto Plus Raffle winners, each matching the code 7284 to bag €300. Check out a full prize breakdown from the Irish Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 in the Results section.
There will be a jackpot of €2 million on offer in the next draw on Wednesday evening and you can pick up tickets now by either playing online or visiting an authorised retailer in Ireland such as Rushe’s Supervalu. Best of luck!
