Saturday evening saw Irish Lotto crown its second jackpot winner in the space of a week as one lucky player from the south-east successfully matched all six numbers to claim the top prize of €2,578,134. The €8 Normal Play ticket that was sold at a Spar in the city of Waterford on the day of the draw.
Saturday’s winning Irish Lotto numbers were 9, 18, 23, 27, 31 and 38, with 30 appearing as the Bonus Ball. In addition to the big winner on the night there were 27 lucky ticket holders, each of whom claimed €1,494 by successfully matching five main numbers. There were a further 26,699 winners with prizes ranging from €9 for matching three main numbers to €159 for matching four main numbers and the Bonus Ball. There will be quite a few fingers crossed as 16,882 players test their luck once more with each taking home a €3 scratchcard after matching two main numbers and the Bonus Ball. Following the draw, lottery officials confirmed the location where the winning ticket was sold, but the winner has not yet come forward to claim their prize. This is reportedly the second time a customer in the Ferrybank store has won a major cash prize after a ticket scooped the EuroMillions Plus jackpot of €500,000 in August 2011.
