It was a mixed night for Irish Lotto fans as the €12,545,065 jackpot again proved elusive, but the draw did see over 93,000 players take home prizes that could banish the winter blues. The jackpot will now roll over, with Saturday’s top prize set to reach a life-changing €14 million.
The winning numbers from the main draw were 3, 6, 17, 23, 27 and 29 with 5 emerging as the Bonus Ball. One lucky player managed to brighten up their January by matching five numbers from and the Bonus Ball to collect €120,319, while an additional 94 people cashed in by correctly predicting five main numbers to earn themselves €768 apiece. A further 56,098 players won cash prizes, ranging from €7 to €77 for players matching between three main numbers and four numbers plus the Bonus Ball, and 37,699 participants were each rewarded with a €3 scratch card for matching two main numbers and the Bonus Ball.
While no player was able to claim the top prize in either the Lotto Plus 1 or the Lotto Plus 2 draws, there was better news for those competing in the Lotto Plus Raffle, where 195 entrants were successful in collecting €300 after matching 8183 as the code drawn. With the jackpot growing at an unprecedented rate, it’s entirely possible that Irish Lotto fans could be playing for a record equalling jackpot very soon. In its current state, the top prize has not reached such dizzying heights since March 2011.
