There were over 22,000 prize winners in the Irish Lotto draw on Wednesday 25th May, but no one was able to replicate the success of the player who scooped the jackpot in Saturday’s game. The top prize will now climb to €2.5 million for the next draw this weekend.
The numbers drawn last night were 16, 18, 27, 31, 39 and 45 with Bonus Ball 44. Lucky ticket holders picked up everything from a €3 scratchcard for matching two main numbers plus the Bonus Ball up to €1,582 for matching five main numbers. There were also more winners in the Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 games, while 79 Lotto Plus Raffle participants matched the winning code of 7180 to pocket €300 each. The player who bagged Saturday’s €5.5 million jackpot has yet to come forward with the winning ticket they bought in Dublin, but a number of big winners have visited National Lottery headquarters to claim prizes over the last few days. Among those to make the trip has been a syndicate from Wexford, who landed the €500,000 top prize in last Friday’s EuroMillions Plus draw.
The members of the group decided to keep their identities private, but have described the winning feeling as ‘amazing’. One of the players said: “We will of course look after our friends and our family but we have already discussed a nice long holiday to Bondi Beach in Australia in the coming months, so that’s something to look forward to.”
