Irish Lotto Winner’s Identity Up In The Air
The hunt is on for the winner of last Saturday’s €5.4 million Irish Lotto jackpot, after National Lottery officials confirmed that the lucky player bought their ticket at Dublin Airport.

The numbers drawn on 23rd December were 5, 14, 28, 29, 32 and 38, with Bonus Ball 31. As well as the jackpot winner, there were over 42,000 other prizes given away on the night, along with lots of other winners in Irish Lotto Plus 1, Irish Lotto Plus 2 and the Lotto Plus Raffle. The jackpot had climbed past €5 million after seven straight draws without a winner, but one ticket holder finally managed to break the sequence of rollovers just before Christmas. They have 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward, and everyone who played the game at Dublin Airport has been urged to check their tickets.
The Quick Pick ticket was bought on Friday, in the WHSmith shop in the arrivals area of terminal one. Dermot Griffin, the National Lottery’s CEO, said: "This was one of the busiest days of the year in arrivals and the ticket could have been bought by somebody coming home for Christmas, by a friend or relative meeting a loved one, or an airport worker. This is going to be a very special Christmas indeed for that lucky person."
Millionaire Raffle
It also promises to be a special Christmas for lucky players in the annual Millionaire Raffle, which will take place as usual on New Year’s Eve. There will be 5,056 guaranteed prizes this year, including one fabulous prize worth €1 million.
Players who enter the Christmas Millionaire Raffle will be given a random six-digit code, and winning codes will then be selected on the night of the draw. It is important to check your ticket after the draw to make sure you don’t miss out on a reward, like the Cork player last year who failed to come forward in time to collect their €1 million.
