Leinster Family ‘Won’t Change’ After €9.4 Million Irish Lotto Win
A family from Leinster has come forward to claim the €9.4 million Irish Lotto jackpot from Saturday 26th August. The lucky winners, who waited a couple of weeks before visiting Irish National Lottery headquarters, insist they will not let the success change their lives.
The syndicate matched the winning numbers of 1, 16, 17, 32, 34 and 35 after buying a ticket from the Spar on Talbot Street, Dublin, on the day of the draw. They found out they had won the next day when they heard the news and checked their ticket, and can now look forward to an incredible future.
“We are absolutely delighted with this win,” said a spokesperson for the group, who have decided to keep their identities private. “This will certainly make our lives easier and will secure the future for us all. We plan to remain low key and we don’t intend changing our lifestyle dramatically. We want everything to continue as normal as possible.”
Irish Lotto winners have 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward and claim prizes, and the holder of the jackpot-winning ticket from last Wednesday’s €2.9 million has also made contact with National Lottery officials.
The Irish Lotto jackpot was not won in the latest draw on Saturday night, but one lucky EuroMillions player scooped €1,051,958 on Friday after matching all five main numbers and one of the Lucky Stars. The ticket was purchased from a Spar store in the Triangle, Ranelagh in Dublin 6. Peter Dwan, co-owner of the store, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have sold the winning ticket and can’t wait to start spreading the word to our local customers.”
