Lotto Plus Raffle To Make a Millionaire on Saturday 21st December
The Irish Lotto draw on Saturday 21st December will feature a special Lotto Plus Raffle, with one player guaranteed to become a millionaire.
In the Lotto Plus Raffle, a four-digit combination between 0000 and 9999 is randomly selected as the winning code on every draw night. If this matches the code that is printed on your ticket, you receive a fixed €500.
In Saturday’s special draw, however, one lucky ticket will be worth an extra €1 million. The Irish Lottery will hold a separate draw to pick one of the tickets at random. As soon as the player comes forward to claim their €500 prize, they will be notified that they have also won the €1 million draw. They will end up with a payout of €1,000,500.
To enter the special draw, you don’t need to do anything different to normal. Lotto Plus is an optional extra when you play Lotto, so just add it on for €1 more per line.
Lotto Plus includes Plus 1, Plus 2 and the Plus Raffle, giving you lots more opportunities to win. Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2 work in the same way as the main Lotto draw, with your same numbers entered into two more draws. Plus 1 has a jackpot of €1 million, while Plus 2 has a top prize of €250,000.
The Lotto Plus Raffle usually has between 50 and 100 winners of €500. The number of winners varies because it depends on how many tickets are sold, but the odds of winning for each code you have are always the same. There are 10,000 possible raffle combinations, so your chances of success are 1 in 10,000 for each one. As the minimum play is two lines, this is slashed to 1 in 5,000. If you buy more tickets, your odds improve.
If you combine Lotto and Lotto Plus, the overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 10. It is also possible to win prizes on multiple games on the same night.
Looking beyond Saturday’s big draw, there is also the upcoming Christmas Millionaire Raffle on 31st December. There are lots of other games to enjoy throughout the festive period, so make sure to get involved and try to become the next big winner.
