Saturday's Irish Lottery Jackpot Winner Claims Prize
Saturday’s Irish Lottery jackpot winner has come forward to claim their prize just days after matching all six main numbers to win €5.5 million.
The winning jackpot ticket belongs to a couple who purchased the Quick Pick ticket from Michael Corbett’s shop in the village of Quin, Co Clare. The couple, who have decided to remain anonymous, discovered they had won the jackpot the day after the draw, having kept the ticket under their pillow for safekeeping.
Ireland’s newest jackpot winners wasted no time in claiming their prize and arrived at the lottery headquarters in Dublin yesterday to collect their cheque. Speaking about the life-changing win, the winner said: “I’ve never won anything before. It’s amazing to be in a position to pay off all the bills and look after our families.”
This is the 16th time this year that the Irish Lottery jackpot has been won and the fifth largest jackpot so far this year. Following this top prize win, the Irish Lottery jackpot resets to €2 million for Wednesday’s draw.
