The Hunt Is On For Winner of £1 Million From Co. Derry
If you bought a ticket in Co. Derry for the EuroMillions draw on Tuesday 31st July, you might want to check it as a £1 million winner from the region has yet to come forward to claim their prize money. The prize was one of two to be given away in the UK Millionaire Maker Raffle, which every EuroMillions player is automatically entered into.
Still Plenty of Time to Claim
The unknown winner has until January 2019 to come forward and claim the prize, but the UK National Lottery has kick-started the search to find the lucky ticket holder. The winning code was XQPQ 05000, so check your ticket to see if it features a matching code underneath your line(s) of EuroMillions numbers.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at the National Lottery, said: “We're desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings. This amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody's life.
"We're urging everyone who bought a ticket in this area to check their old Euromillions tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding, so that this prize can turn someone into the newest member of the lottery millionaire club. Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa. We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
If the winner does not claim the prize before 27th January 2019, the unclaimed money will be allocated to the National Lottery’s Good Causes fund, where it will be used to support charity and non-profit organisations around the UK.
Lotto Plus One Winner Lands €500,000
There was good news for another player in Ireland after it was revealed that there was one winner of the Lotto Plus One jackpot on Wednesday 15th August. No details have been released about the winner, but lottery officials did disclose that it went to an online entrant. An email has already been sent to the winner notifying them of the windfall, so now they just have to come forward to claim the money.
A lottery spokesperson said: “One of our lucky online players will have woken up to an email this morning to inform them that they have won the €500,000 Lotto Plus prize. We are encouraging all of our online and App players to check their emails and to contact our prize claims team on 01 836 4444 and we will make arrangements for them to collect their prize”.
The Lotto Plus One jackpot was the only one to be won on Wednesday, as there were no winners of the top prize in the main draw or the Lotto Plus 2 draw. The Lotto jackpot rolls over to an estimated €3.5 million for the next draw on Saturday 18th August. You can take part by buying a ticket from any lottery retailer in Ireland, or by choosing your numbers online.
