Which Wexford Shop Sold the Winning Christmas Millionaire Raffle Ticket?
A Wexford lottery fan is €1 million richer after matching the winning 2017 Christmas Millionaire Raffle code on New Year’s Eve. The annual event saw more than 5,000 prizes distributed across the country, with ticket number 054239 clinching the seven-figure jackpot.
Christmas Millionaire Raffle Winning Shop
The Irish National Lottery revealed on Monday that the shop that sold the Christmas Millionaire Raffle-winning ticket is Flanagan’s Centra in Castlebridge, Wexford. The stake was placed on Thursday 14th December, and the village of less than 2,000 people is now electric with gossip over the identity of the brand-new millionaire.
Store owner Louis Flanagan described it as “incredible news” and told the press that the win would “extend our New Year’s celebrations.” He also urged locals to check their tickets as soon as possible in case they bear the winning combination.
Other Raffle Winners
The second prize of €250,000 was won in Cavan, on a ticket bought at Tarpey’s SuperValu on Cootehill Road. That player left it late to snap up their entry, making the purchase on Saturday 30th December, the day before the draw. The winning code was 306241.
Other prizes ranged from €500 to €100,000 and you can find the full Christmas Millionaire Raffle results for 2017 on the dedicated page.
Irish Lotto Luck
The Raffle winner is not the only Irish player set to start 2018 as a millionaire, with multimillion-Euro Irish Lotto and EuroMillions prizes won over the festive period. A ticket holder who played Irish Lotto at a newsagents in Dublin Airport pocketed €5.4 million on Saturday 23rd December, whilst a ticket sold in the capital for the EuroMillions draw on Friday 29th December is worth €38.9 million to one lucky punter. It was the nation’s third EuroMillions jackpot win of 2017.
